We read the Afrikaans version of A quiet night in by Jill Murphy. It is about an Elephant Mommy that plans a special birthday dinner for her hubby but of course things does not go to plan!
We made a little circus elephant to go along with the elephant theme. I cut a elephant from green construction paper and cut out a piece on it's back and placed some contact there. Little Mouse then sprinkled glitter on the contact and I sealed it with another piece of contact and added the ear. Now she has a little circus elephant with a shiny blanket on!
She played with it for at least 30minutes! My apologies for the quality of this pic, but she just would not sit still!

Wow - that looks great! We have tons of Elephant stories coming up so this might just fit in nicely - thanks!
Aww! What a cute elephant and I think the picture is adorable! I can totally relate, though, it's so hard to get a picture of Dawson because he is always on the move!
I like how you used the glitter, and contact paper to give the elephant a circus look. Very cute.
What a cute elephant!
Man, getting a toddler to sit still for a picture is like trying to herd cats!
(However, the pic of her IS adorable, and so is the activity!)
P.S. Thanks for choosing to follow my blog- I really appreciate it!
That is such a cute little circus elephant. We LOVE using contact paper for projects. Thank you for linking up to stART this week :0)
